Artist Inspiration

The painting First Sun represents the early morning light. A new day, a new beginning. The failures and disappointments of yesterday are behind us. A blank sheet, a fresh start, a renewal.

Artist Bio

John is a contemporary landscape painter whose love of art and nature is vividly expressed in his colourful canvases.

Born in Barrie, Ontario, he has lived in the Halliburton Highlands for over 30 years.

After high school he studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and later at the ArtStudents League of New York. Over 50 years devoted to painting the Canadian landscape has provided an unending variety of subject matter and a constant inspiration for his art.

His work has been exhibited internationally for many years and is represented in numerous collections in Canada and abroad.
