This is the site of the former Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church and school, which were indicative of the city's Polish heritage. In 1899, enough Catholic Polish immigrants were living in the area to warrant a new congregation and parish church. The school closed in 1970 and the church closed in 2017.
This point of interest is part of the tour: Oil City North Side Historic District.
