The 1904 Olympic Games were held in St. Louis, and were the first Olympics held in the Western Hemisphere. Most events were held at Francis Field, which is currently located on the campus of Washington University. The original stadium was completed for the 1904 World’s Fair and was also used for the Olympic Games. It had a seating capacity of 19,000, but today can seat 4,000 after renovations that were done over the years.
