This was the residence of local brick-maker, George Black, whose handmade bricks can be found throughout Winston-Salem and the Southeast. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places as being nationally significant. Not only did many of this city’s buildings and homes have their brick made here, Mr. Black employed many workers in this neighborhood in making them. These bricks are revered among historic preservationists in our community.
