The Golden Necklace Pod (Sophora tomentosa) is a flowering plant native to the coastal regions of South Florida and the Caribbean. The Necklace Pod is a medium-sized shrub that can reach up to 10 feet in height and length. It is quite notable for its soft velvety leaves and an eye-catching string of bright yellow flowers. Pollinators are especially drawn to the flowers for their sweet nectar. Shortly after bloom, brown seed-pods form in place of the flowers. This tightly-packed distribution of pods resembles necklace beads.
