Grevy’s Zebra is the largest of all wild equids, reaching a height of 5 feet at the shoulder. Its coat of black stripes against a white background is bisected by a long thick black stripe that runs from the base of the mane to the base of the tail. Their stripes are thin, close together, and found on their legs all the way down to their hooves. Grevy’s zebras face a double threat of having to compete with domestic livestock for water, and also being hunted for their coat.
