Henry Mall Historic Plaque

Located at the south end of Henry Mall

Dedicated in 1924

Henry Mall was named in honor of William Arnon Henry, an American academic and agriculturist from Ohio who led the growth of the College of Agriculture, becoming its first dean in 1891. The Agricultural Dean's Residence in the Allen Centennial Garden was built as part of a retention package for Henry in 1896. Henry remained at the university until 1907, when he was named a professor emeritus.

In recognition of the pioneer services of Dean William Arnon Henry to the science and practice of agriculture in this university, the state and the nation from 1880-1907. The approach to the College of Agriculture has been designated by the Regents: The Henry Quadrangle.
