Bridge View Road leads past villas and stately trees into Wanganella Street, named after a passenger ship on the trans-Tasman route, which became a hospital ship in World War II. At the end of Wanganella Street, there are six tall palms that stand guard near the south end of Tizard Road.
Enjoy views of the Waitākere to the west beyond Te Mata-rae-o-Mana (Kauri Point) and then proceed along the bush path.
Continue down the pathway through Hinemoa Park to Hinemoa Street. At the road, turn right to return to Birkenhead Wharf and the start of the tour.
This point of interest is part of the tour: Birkenhead Point Gateway Walk
