The "Pottery" was the original studio building that began the Archie Bray Foundation. It was built in 1951 by founders Archie Bray, Peter Meloy, Branson Stevenson, founding artists Rudy Autio and Peter Voulkos, as well as other local supporters. Francis Senska, who was Voulkos' and Autio's teacher at Montana State College (Montana State University today) in Bozeman, made many of the tiles which decorate the exterior facade.
This building initially housed all of the artist studios, classrooms, kiln facilities, glaze laboratory, and sales gallery under one roof. Today it serves as the administrative hub for all of the Bray's programs. If you need assistance, the offices are open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
