Created By: UW-Madison

Information

1575 Linden Drive

Built in 1910

The Horticulture building houses the Department of Horticulture, one of the earliest departments in the college. The department was originally in a section of Soils Physics which is now King Hall/Soils. In 1910, this new Horticulture building was constructed to accommodate the growing department. In 1980, a plant science addition was added to the west and south. Horticulture faculty members provide programs that are focused on fundamental studies of plant biology, crop production and utilization of horticultural crops. They also provide educational opportunities for the pursuit of careers in horticulture, strengthen the competitive position of Wisconsin's horticulture industry and work to increase the use of plants for environmental improvement and as a source of personal enrichment. The work of department faculty, staff, and students has made substantial impacts in the state and nation for over 125 years. Web site: www.horticulture.wisc.edu
