A contemporary single-family home with a shop on the ground floor. A characteristic example of the architecture of the post-war modern architecture movement in the Algarve. The themes such as geometry, varied surfaces, and surprising openings have been developed in contrast to the immediate neighbor buildings, which mainly consists of nineteenth century buildings.
Responsible for this architectural object with its specific language is architect Manuel Gomes da Costa. The building clearly has similarities with other shop/residential buildings designed by him in the municipality of Tavira in the 1950s and 1960s.
