The Jericevich property once occupied twelve acres along Glenfield Road between Camelot Place and Bentley Avenue. Maria was born in Korčula, Yugoslavia (in modern-day Croatia). She became a permitted immigrant in 1940, which required that she marry within two years. If not, her father had to pay the government £2,000. As a result, she married Mark Jericevich, a fellow Yugoslav, in 1942. The couple bought a large cottage in Glenfield from Jacob and Kate Marshall, who had once run the Mayfield Post Office from 1897 to 1905.
A year after moving to the new property, Mark Jericevich was committed to hospital, and he remained there for the next twenty years. Maria turned the property into a commercial dairy farm, milking seven cows by hand, and taking the cream up to Manuka Road for collection. She was generous and a dedicated worker for the community.
In 1964, Jericevich sold her land to Puckeys Housing Developers. The developers built a new home for Jericevich at the top of Camelot Place where she lived until her untimely death in 1990.
