This sculpture titled "The Absence of Reality" was created by local artist, Julia Burr. Made of painted mild steel, stone, and locust, Burr says about the piece, "I was exploring the different point of views of the loads we carry, how to determine whether they are real or only perceived to be real. Perception and attitude affecting every step, the figure is bent and leaning forward, straining to carry that rock and yet the rock and its tether are "floating" a couple of inches off the ground., and that rock is real and has real weight."
