Kolkata is #3 on my list because of it's dark history. Near Fort William, Kolkata, there is a place called the Black Hole. The Black Hole was a small prison. In 1756, troops in India held 146 British prisoners in a 18 ft by 14 ft 10 inch cell for one night. The prisoners trampled each other and suffocated. By the morning, only 23 prisoners survived. This city placed above Beijing because Beijing's history (at least the parts we learned) wasn't as dark as Kolkata's dungeon.
