Le Fer Hall

The main entrance of Le Fer Hall, named after sisters Mary Joseph and Francis Xavier who were fellow Sisters of Providence with Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, faces to the north and is located on the south side of the avenue. Le Fer Hall is prominent with various global architectural elements on the exterior such as the Greek key, or meander, that are visible below the highest windows on each tower. Upon making your way up the stairs (or there is an elevator located at the west door of the main entrance beyond the stairs where you will arrive in the main hall on the first floor) into the lobby note the Bust from Florence, Italy to the right before the iron doors. Moving past the iron doors and near the grand staircase there is a wall hanging made of rice gifted from the Vietnamese Sisters of Providence. Going back to the main hall, enter the Formal Parlor where the Madonna and Child painting from Italy adorns the center of the south wall. The fireplace is pronounced with the Coat of Arms that denotes French influences and The Woods' motto in Latin, stating Virtus cum Scientia (Knowledge and Virtue United).

The first floor of Le Fer Hall is the only accessible location for this tour and available between 8am-5pm ET.
