Built in 1925 at an estimated cost of $30,000, the Leak Building has a blend of Mediterranean Revival style and post-classic Chicago Industrial style, both popular in the 1920s. Although the overall building design was geared toward retail or offices on the ground floor, and offices, hotel rooms, or meeting space on the second floor, ironically, one of the first documented uses for the building was as a Chinese restaurant. Recently, it was occupied by a bank, but now once again it holds a restaurant. The restored building now looks much as it originally did.
