The Lyric Theatre, built in 1909, is actually two theatres that were integrated together during restoration. They took the Apollo Theatre and merged it with the Lyric. It has entrances on both 42nd and 43rd Streets. It has just completed another round of renovations for the much anticipated opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The Lyric Theatre has the distinction of housing the biggest financial flop in Broadway history. The show was called Spider Man, Turn Off the Dark. The show cost a whopping 75 million dollars to produce and while it ran for two and a half years, it ultimately lost 60 million.
