Mae Salong Market is a great example of the lively and colouful trading heritage of Northern Thailand. Stalls are set up and selling from around 6am, and we recommend that you go there early to pick the very best of local plants, fruits, fresh foods, teas and groceries. Moreover, you will also find a plethora of handicraft items and textilses produced by the diverse ethnic groups settling in and around the village. Every Saturday morning, additional stalls are set up towards the west of the village to accommodate travelling traders from the surrounding mountains. The market is a great opportunity to experience the diverse community of people in Mae Salong.
