Master Gardeners are county residents who receive extensive horticulture training and commit to be volunteer partners by helping the university educate residents to be better gardeners and improve their environmental stewardship (https://extension.umd.edu/baltimore-county/master-gardeners). They conduct educational semiars through environmental gardening demonstrations, workshops, and lectures. They also have outreach programs to the community to assist with tips for gardeners or county projects.
This demonstration garden showcases many different types of gardens and is completely run by the master gardeners. Visitors can look at all of the different plots and read about different practices and plants on their walk through the garden.
