Information

  • The Mathew Hall house was built in 1879
  • Matthew farmed and also served as the supervisor of the Plank Road which ran through the city. The wooden plank road became Detroit Avenue.
  • It was later used as a nursing home and the YMCA.
  • Was sold the the City of Lakewood in the 1950s and was demolished to build Edwards Park.
  • The brick carriage house still stands north of the playground.
