Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery Building

The Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery Building will house the Meat Science and Muscle Biology program. The mission of the new facility is to train the next generation of meat industry leaders, support innovative research interests through interdisciplinary collaborative efforts, provide outreach education to foster the production of wholesome meat products, and continue economic development of the meat industry through the Wisconsin Master Meat Crafter Training Program. The new building will be open in 2020.
The Seed Building was formerly located at the site of the Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery Building. It was built in 1940 and provided centralized storage of seed for the agronomy department. In 2017, the seeds stored in this facility were move to a facility at the West Madison Agricultural Research Station.
