Meat Science and Muscle Biology
1805 Linden Drive
Built in 1930 with renovations in 1959 and 1969
Meat Science and Muscle Biology is a research and instructional program that is part of the Animal Sciences Department. The building was also home to Bucky’s Butchery, where meat products were processed and marketed by undergraduate students. Historically, the faculty have worked closely with the meat industry to solve real-world problems while educating students to become industry leaders. A new home for the program, called the UW Meat Science & Animal Biologics Discovery Building, is being constructed on Observatory Drive and will open in 2020.
