Built in 1847, this building was originally the Methodist Church. Reverend Joseph Marsh was a factory worker and an ordained minister and often preached here on Sundays. It would be impossible to understate the importance that religion played in the everyday lives of the folks who lived here during the Victorian era. For a town of just 3,000 people at the time, Sandwich had a Congregational, Unitarian, Episcopal, Methodist, and Catholic churches - not to mention the Quaker Meeting House. In 1922, it was sold to the Masons and is now a Masonic Hall.
