Murray House

  • 160-year-old Victorian-era building, designed in Classical architecture style​
  • e.g., heavy stone walls, lighter Doric, Ionic columns​

  • In 1844, originally built as officers' quarters of Murray Barracks​

  • During Japanese occupation, command center by the Japanese military police, execution place for some Chinese citizens​

  • In 1982, transplanted from Central to Stanley​

  • over 3,000 building blocks were labelled and catalogued for future restoration​
