Information

Upper Ngau Tau Kok Estate

Upper Ngau Tau Kok was a low-cost housing for the poor people who didn’t meet the requirement to apply for a resettlement area. The condition was poor, which had neither an independent bathroom nor kitchen.

Residents in Ngau Tau Kok could be rehoused in the upper Ngau tau Kok estate. As many residents in the old Ngau Tau Kok Estate had already lived there for over 30 years, and many of them were elderly, the government decided to rehouse them in the same district even in the same estate to preserve and sustain the community and to minimize disruption to the residents. The government also designed the leisure sitting-out area and the exhibition of Old Ngau Tau Kok Estate for the elderly to adapt to the new environment.
