  • The oldest frame house in Lakewood
  • Built in 1835 by James and Betsey Nicholson
  • The house remained in their family through four generations until 1947.
  • The Nicholsons were very active in the community; James built the first school and first church.
  • The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
  • The house is an example of New England architecture
  • In 1985 Lakewood Historical Society renovated it and now maintains the property as an event rental facility.
