Nicholson House

The oldest frame house in Lakewood
Built in 1835 by James and Betsey Nicholson
The house remained in their family through four generations until 1947.
The Nicholsons were very active in the community; James built the first school and first church.
The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
The house is an example of New England architecture
In 1985 Lakewood Historical Society renovated it and now maintains the property as an event rental facility.
