Nicole Fecteau at Roots and Dreams and Mustard Seeds! (8/2, 5 to 8 pm)

Roots and Dreams and Mustard Seeds, 119 Fenn Street, will feature local artist Nicole Fecteau during the First Fridays Artswalk on August 2 for one-night only, 5 to 8 pm.

Artist Statement:

Creativity is at the heart of all that I do! From community organizing to simple sketching, mixed media art to poetic writing, creativity creates a pathway for hope - a distinguished assumption that from the void of nothingness, and/or even from a myriad of broken pieces, we can formulate new paths forward, even new worlds.

As a community organizer engaged in equitable systems of change, untempered and tempered art is the pivotal crux of paradigm shift. It must accompany us in all our struggles, individually and communally, it releases the heart of struggle to make room for solutions, both of which can flow freely in artistic expression. No one need be classically trained to meaningfully create, in fact we must create to live sanely. For this reason, I not only create art personally but am constantly creating art with others in all our community programs!

Art is life - a collision of particles brought into being by the life source of humanity, an endless spectrum of ingenuities displaying our ever complicated, arduous but beautiful journey!
