In 1866 a fire destroyed early structures located at this location. In 1871 Rallya & Griffin opened a large stationer and bookstore on this corner.
In the not too distant memory of area citizens is the stately Lamberton Bank building. The Lamberton Bank was replaced with the present day structure in the early 1970s.
