  • In the late 1800’s, the students met in the attic of the old Central School, but as patrons demanded more structure and formality for their students in the secondary grades, Lehi High School was created in 1908.
  • George N. Child is listed as the first principal of the high school at this time; he also was the supervisor of the Lehi School District according to a "History of Lehi" by Hamilton Gardner published in 1913.

  • In the fall of 1906, W. Karl Hopkins became the second principal of Central School and is cited in Gardner's book as the first principal of Lehi High School.

  • Also in 1915, Lehi School District along with Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Fort, Fairfield, Orem, Pleasant Grove districts were consolidated as the Alpine School District.

  • The old Central School building continued to be used as a high school until 1922 when a new building on the southeast corner of 200 North and Center Street was completed.

In 1921, the new high school was constructed for $92,834 and was subsequently renovated to include an auditorium. Several additions came later including a grandstand, auto mechanics shop, choral music/band room, and office area. Students thrived as new and varied opportunities became available. Junior high and senior high students, together, attended the two-story high school.

Bowing to press printing needs to shorten the mascot name, the Wolverines briefly became the Pelicans and in the 1934-1935 school year students voted to become the Pioneers, "an image that has remained popular for more than 50 years." In 1950, there were 538 students and 20 faculty. The last class to graduate from this building was in 1959 with 89 seniors.
