At the entrance of the preserve, there is a small grassland full of different grasses, sedges, rushes and other herbaceous and/or flowering species. These species include but are not limited to; red clover, black-eyed susan, rabbit-foot clover, goldenrod species and numerous other plants in the Asteraceae family.
