Information

On March 21, 2009, the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão was opened at noon by the Minister of Culture, Dr. José António Pinto Ribeiro. The doors were opened to the public for the performance of singer Teresa Salgueiro. This cultural equipment has a capacity of 420 seats and a number of technical facilities for all types of shows, and an underground parking with 75 seats.

The auditorium, designed by architect António Meireles, cost around 5.2 million euros and part of the money spent on its construction came from community funds. Graça Cunha is responsible for her leadership of cultural programs. In terms of programming, there are two agreements that include the Olhão auditorium in two networks: a regional and a national network. According to the information collected, there are already similar spaces in Almada, Braga and Aveiro, as well as the Teatro São Carlos
