Information

Longtime residents of Middlebury will recognize this property as the site of the former John Graham Motel, which over the years fell into disrepair. In 2014, ACCT and Evernorth partnered to redevelop the property. The old motel was demolished and on its site were built 10 new townhomes. Additionally, three historic buildings on the property (including 31 & 37 North Pleasant St) were renovated into another 12 apartments for a total of 22 units. The buildings are highly energy-efficient and heated with a combination of wood pellets and natural gas. Homes range from studios to four bedrooms, and on average rent for $892 per month including heat and wifi as of 2020. This is considered affordable for someone making about $35,000 per year--the average wage for a renter in Addison County. Residents also have access to a community room, shared laundry, and community gardens. Budgeting classes are offered several times a year in the common room and are open to the community. There is also an active DREAM program that links kids with mentors from Middlebury College.
