The Reaching for Peace mural was created in 2004 by local artist and professor, Lance Hunter. After many uears of community enjoyment, the mural was restored in 2018 by replacing an exterior door, applying protective clear acrylic varnish, and repainting the awning covering. It was originally designed to commemorate the centennial of Northeastern State University and can be found on the north side of the NSU Art Gallery at 323 N Muskogee Avenue.
