Red Brick House is a Grade 1 historic building which is located in No. 344 Shanghai Street. It was formerly the Engineer’s Office of the Water Pumping Station and built in 1895. It is the oldest pumping station in Hong Kong. The architectural style is Colonial Neo-Classical style. Its special features include the red brick façade, cast iron hopper heads, cast iron rainwater pipes, arched verandahs and granite coping stones, skew corbels, knee stones, and pad stones to gable. Red Brick House and Yau Ma Tei Theatre now have been revitalized as a Xiqu Activity Centre.
