Red Brick Building

The Past and Present of Yau Tsim Mong

Red Brick Building

Kowloon Hong Kong

Created By: Leung Sin Hang Sophia

Information

The Red Brick Building was built in 1895 and was the Oldest water pumping station under the Hong Kong Water Supplies Department. It served as the former engineer's office of the Water Pumping Station until 1895 when the pumping station ceased operation.

This is an important point as this building served as a graded historic building in 2000 and acts as a preservation of its uniqueness, such as the knee stones and the iron rainwater pipes, as the other parts of the complex were mainly demolished.

This point of interest is part of the tour: The Past and Present of Yau Tsim Mong
