Red River Hogs usually have bright russet brown fur, but this varies based on the animal’s geographic location. Their head is mostly black with white areas around the mask, making it look like the hog is wearing a mask. They also sport a distinct white dorsal mane, the hairs of which stand up when its excited or alarmed. Red river hogs are monogamous and both the mother and father take care of and protect their piglets.
