A. WHERE IT'S AT

Near the corner of 38th and Michigan on the same block as the historically significant South Side Community Art Center. To experience the augmented reality of the mural with animation and descriptive content, the mobile phone application can be downloaded from the AppStore or GooglePlay.

B. WHAT IT'S FOR

Appearing on a Bronzeville Community Microgrid battery storage wall, the mural demarcates a piece of advanced energy infrastructure by celebrating the legacy of innovation in the Bronzeville Neighborhood. The “past meets future” look at cutting-edge decarbonization, electrification, and microgrid technologies invites reflection and engagement on climate change, a defining challenge for the next generation of innovators.

C. WHO MADE IT

ComEd joined forces with local artists Rahman Statik and Shawn Warren and institutions such as climate focused non-profit Before It’s Too Late, design school Little Black Pearl, Southside Community Art Center, and historic Gallery Guichard to create this mural.
