Renaissance Mural

This dynamic, augmented reality (AR)- enhanced mural utilizes public art to celebrate the rich history of Bronzeville and explore the ways innovation in the present and future can help us mitigate the effects of climate change.

Local artists and institutions such as climate focused non-profit Before It’s Too Late, design school Little Black Pearl, Southside Community Art Center, and historic Gallery Guichard joined forces with ComEd to create this mural and build on our deep relationship with Bronzeville.

Appearing on a Bronzeville Community Microgrid battery storage wall, the mural connects digital and physical spaces to depict a “past meets future” look at cutting-edge decarbonization, electrification, and microgrid technologies.
