On the site of Allie's Deli and Coffee shop was the Reno House. Built in 1871 The Reno House was the first hotel in Hutchinson, being built shortly after the city was founded. In 1872 a report from Atchison wrote "The Reno House is kept and well ekpt by R.S. Davenport, former proprietor of the Patee House at St Joseph, Mo. His excellent lady is a fine musician and make the house cheery by music as well as be her cheerful presence." The wooden structure would survive at least two city floods before finally disappearing in the 1920s.
On a side note, the building just to the right has "Strand" across the top. This build was formerly one of the movie theaters.
