Old Train Car Pavilion
Once a popular stop on the train car’s route. On June 5, 1909, an accident occurred at the Riverside Train Car pavilion when a streetcar overturned due to a defective brake chain, killing one man and injuring many others. August Wacker turned his home at 2621 Parkway Blvd. into an emergency hospital when the accident occurred. Articles about the accident state that a faulty brake was to blame. The Old Train Car Pavilion is still standing. It is used as a picnic shelter house now, it is the one with a curved roof near Riverside/30th.
