WHAT IT’S FOR
Dearborn Homes brings rooftop and ground-mounted solar generation to the Bronzeville community, providing a new supply of clean, renewable energy that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and other forms of air pollution. Beyond the environmental benefits, solar installation and maintenance provides green jobs within our communities.
The panels are connected to the Bronzeville Community Microgrid, forming a bridge between the sun’s energy and local businesses and residences throughout the community. The buildings are also equipped with improvements to the lighting, heating and mechanical systems, and weatherization for an all-around green building supporting local climate resilience.

WHO MADE IT
ComEd collaborated with The Chicago Housing Authority and the Chicago park district to bring solar generation to the Dearborn community and beyond.
