Information

A steel shoebox mounted on a post. It's signage describes the contents:

"TAKE A PEEK AT MAIN ST. c1910 When Mr. Abbot Kinney built Venice of America, Main Street was a CANAL & Windward Circle was the LAGOON with an 80' high diving platform & giant swing, to fly into the water.

PEEK into the shoebox: It's the view down Coral Canal (now Main St) from Venus Canal (now San Juan St) - romantic waterways with gondolas, gardens & the wild Race Through the Clouds roller coaster on the banks of the Lagoon. Be transported. Enjoy the ride."

Installed on Abbot Kinney Blvd at Andalutia 2010-2023. Currently at 419 Carroll Canal
