Artist Inspiration

The theme of Renewal made me think of so many things, from the Spring renewal of nature to the renewal of self through continuous self-development. I turned to the work we were doing on our property and realized that re-painting a building is itself a kind of renewal. It wakes us up to the possibilities of what we can change in life as well as the beauty of colour. This little painting shows the renewal of an old garage.

Artist Bio

I have been drawing and painting since I was little, but took a hiatus of over 30 years during my career as an information professional. A few years ago I picked up where I’d left off, exploring different approaches to landscapes, figure drawing and painting as well as stained glass mosaics. I work mostly with acrylic paints, but also dabble with oils. There is so much to learn and so many directions to follow in art. I keep working at it in my beautiful lakeside studio and continuously benefit from various art classes.

Jacqueline Halupka is an artist based in Haliburton, working with acrylics as well as stained glass mosaics. Most of her work is based on Ontario landscape with a recent focus on figure painting
