The Solar Pyramid is located outside of Gallery Guichard at 436 E 47th St.

B. WHAT IT'S FOR

The Solar Pyramid demonstrates the power of clean energy and engages the next generation of local STEM talent. Stylized hieroglyphs depict clean energy innovations as well as students’ unique identities. The form of the pyramid challenges visitors to think about the legacies that we leave behind. Which of our priorities and technologies will be celebrated for generations to come?

C. WHO MADE IT

Local artist Olusola "Shala." Akintunde designed the pyramid with the help of 60 high school students who participated in ComEd’s annual celebration of Black History Month.
