Stop 1 - Into the Woods!

Welcome to our unique walk through Blane-more Forest, situated at the end of the bog road, through Garry-na-gran townland, where locals still cut turf from the bog, as fuel for their fireplaces. Our trail will take you past a mysterious lake and ancient archaeology dating to the Neolithic and Bronze ages set in the beauty of our woods. To continue, follow the green arrows up the gravel road into the forest, past the information sign. The red arrows are for the walkers of the 16km Moy-gown-agh loop walk as they navigate through the woods on their longer trail. Be sure to read the information displays near each stop (both FRONT and BACK!) to help make your walk more interesting..
