The street names you will see on your tour - Yarborough, Maning, Marriner, Kirkpatrick and Potter are all names of early pioneers and settlers. The sign boards you will see during your tour each have a QR code printed on them. Kohukohu is classified by the Far North District Council as a Heritage Precinct. The Cannons
The Cannons
The cannons are said to have come from the ship "Boyd", but this is now known to have been unlikely. They are of a style that was common on 19th century merchant vessels. These were likely to have been owned by Kohukohu's first European settler, Captain Clark.
