THE UNMARKED CROSS

A cross erected in respect of a family whose remains were found on the island. The inscription reads :-

"On Christmas Eve 1928, this cross was erected in memory of three unknown men, woman and child, whose final resting place was the hard stone bed under the foot of the cross. It must stand as a reminder of the unfathomable accident that centuries ago ended the lives of these people here and as a warning to sea and land that peace and security now and for all the future will receive everyone who comes to Thorøs Land."
