Tabled Intersections

The intersections on Nicollet are designed to make it easier and safer for pedestrians. Crosswalks are generously sized and clearly marked and curb extensions shorten the crosswalk distance where possible. Most intersections are tabled (or raised) to create flush pedestrian crossings, a clear visual cue that prioritizes the pedestrian.

This change makes Nicollet the most accessible street downtown for people facing mobility challenges and allows the visitor’s experience to be uninterrupted by cross streets.
