The two story sandstone residence of Abraham and Catherine Schell was built in 1856. Abraham was a prominent and influential citizen and highly respected lawyer and banker. This home has a floor to ceiling vault in the living room. Mr. Schell owned Rancheria Del Rio Estanislaus (15,000 acres) and started the Red Mountain Vineyard.
