Artist Inspiration

Renewal is inside this piece

We see its colours glow with hope

Now gaze at this from different sides

Colours vary as we walk

It’s almost like a fire starts

Inside such depth one soon is lost

Within the shapes that take us deep

We clearly see a hopeful start.

Artist Bio

Gwynneth has been painting for over 15 years and has taken numerous courses and workshops at the Haliburton School of Art and Design as well as at Studio Six in Toronto. So far, the teachers who have most influenced her are Brian Atyeo, Steve Rose, Marianne Broome, Don Cavin, Jay Dampf, and Mary Intven-Wallace. She loves painting abstracts and non-objectives, but also paints landscapes, and occasionally enjoys painting animals. She has exhibited and sold her paintings privately as well as with the Willowdale Group of Artists and the Don Valley Art Club where she won “Best abstract in show” and “Honourable Mention,” for two abstracts. She paints quickly and intuitively, influenced by the warmth and colour in the scenes she has photographed all over the world. Her studio, “Maison Moose”, is on Horseshoe Lake and is open by appointment in the warmer months where she can be found painting in her boat house. Visit her website: www.maisonmoose.ca

THE ARTSPACE is a multi-function art space in the Haliburton Highlands run by visual artist Laurie O’Reilly, and writer Dave Skinner. During the summer it functions as a gallery and gift shop. Before covid, during the winter months it was used for live model figure drawing.

We try to present a variety of artists and artisans. In past year this has included potters, woodworks, a number of painters, quilters and, garden pot fabricators. Represented artists change depending on availability.

The Gull River runs behind THE ARTSPACE creating a lovely visual and auditory ambiance.

We are located at 1513 Eagle Lake road, just outside of West Guilford, East off of hyw 118.

We are open May 24 weekend until Thanksgiving.

Thursday to Sunday inclusive, from 11am until 4pm. Or by appointment 705-754-0444.
